Have you considered open-air noise instead of headphones? These days I run my air purifier on high right beside my head and I can't hear much of anything except air. When we didn't live together, we had a morning phone call that doubled as a wake-up-call and a nice morning conversation over coffee. On important days especially, even while doing the other tips, I'll ask my partner to nudge me in the morning. If you have a good friend or partner that wakes up at a similar time, ask if they wouldn't mind making sure you're awake.TBH I suck at this, but when you do manage to stay off you're phone, it's amazing how quickly you can get to sleep. Don't use your phone right before bed if you're trying to get to bed earlier.Personally, I find that helps me get a bit sleepy. A sun lamp can help you get to bed earlier too by using its "sunset mode" which slowly changes the colour and luminosity of the lamp to mimic a sunset.I'll typically be a bit more sensitive to disturbances after 6+ hours of sleep vs only getting 6 or less. Personally, I find it easier to wake up with more sleep. If you're someone who can sleep for 12+ hours, this might not help. Consider going to bed a little earlier. This becomes more difficult depending on where you live or the time of year, so I prefer the lamp. Try leaving the blinds open and see if the natural sun can be your backup plan. These sun lamp alarms typically also have an audible alarm so I personally have birds coming out of this in addition to the alarm on my phone. So, even if you sleep through the audible alarm as a result of the noise-cancelling headphones, you have another opportunity to wake up from the bright light. I find this helps because it lights up the room at your wakeup time. Consider getting a sun lamp with an alarm function to compliment your traditional alarm clock setup.

You could also just find and trim your own mp3 - the principle is don't run infinite white noise. You can take one of those 10-hour long videos, and set it so that 4 hours is left in the video. Don't run infinite white noise, find a YouTube video that has 4 hours of white noise - or however long you want to sleep. Here's what I think works to make sure you wake up if you're wearing headphones to sleep:
